About Me

My love for basketball began as early as I can remember. Growing up and having a dad who played college basketball, I was around it all the time. As I got older, I developed my own passion for the game. I remember waking up early to watch recorded basketball highlights and games before school, rather than watch Disney channel. From a very young age, I knew basketball would be a huge part of my life and future. Up until a few years ago, it was my goal to play basketball professionally. Despite my ambitions, God had another plan for my life, that was better than I could have envisioned.

When I was born, I was diagnosed with a heart condition called tetralogy of fallot. This condition essentially decreases blood flow between the heart and lungs, which in turn reduces oxygen levels. This was a very prevalent issue for me throughout my life, as basketball is a very demanding cardio sport. No matter how hard I trained, I physically could not run as long or as hard as my teammates. I had two open heart surgeries, one in 5th grade which prevented me from playing basketball for a year. Despite the odds, and my doctor’s telling me that I would never be able to play basketball at a high level, I continued to work hard every day to achieve my goals.

I went from playing on the B team throughout AAU and being benched my entire junior year of high school, to eventually receiving a full ride scholarship to Eastern Wyoming National Junior College. The first half of my freshman year was challenging, as I was not getting much playing time. However, by the second half of the season and throughout my sophomore year, I became a pivotal part of the team’s success. I was one of our leading scorers, as well as one of the nation’s top 3-point shooters for all of national junior college, shooting 44% from the three-point line. From there, I was able to achieve my goal of playing Division 1 basketball an received a scholarship to play at Northwestern State University out of the Southland conference.

After college, I had the opportunity to play basketball overseas. However, God shifted my path and steered me towards training and coaching. This was not an easy transition, but through this, I have found my true passion in helping others succeed in the sport I love the most. After earning my certifications in personal training and sports nutrition coaching through NASM, I began my journey as a fitness trainer with an emphasis on basketball player development and coaching. Being able to teach young athletes about the game of basketball, as well as help guide them through all aspects of life has been extremely rewarding. My goal is to become a world-renowned basketball trainer who is able to positively impact athletes not only on the basketball court, but in life as well!
